How did it all begin?
I attribute my introduction to yoga to my innate curiosity—a quality that keeps me open-minded and willing to explore new things without any biases. Coupled with a positive attitude, I believe these attributes have greatly benefited me.
In the year 2008, while residing in New Delhi, a family friend recommended a seasoned yoga teacher who offered personalized, one-on-one yoga sessions in the comfort of our home. Considering my husband’s occupation in the high-stakes and volatile stock markets, we believed that incorporating yoga into our routine would significantly contribute to maintaining a sense of calm and composure.
I vividly recall attempting to negotiate the yoga fees with my teacher during our initial conversation, and to my delight, he graciously agreed to a trial session. I must confess, my husband wasn’t initially inclined to participate in the class. However, out of respect for our guest he agreed to join the session.
Reflecting on my initial yoga session, I found it to be a meticulously crafted sequence of asanas and pranayama. It appears every part of my body received attention, and I touched upon various emotions, experiencing a sense of calm and mindfulness.

To my delight, my husband also liked his first ever guided yoga session, and without any reservations, we made the decision to persist with the classes. Thus commenced our journey of practicing yoga three to four times a week, a routine that continued steadfastly for approximately three and a half years.
And that’s how my journey into world of traditional Yoga began….
